This is a concert in Berlin on September 15, 1953. It is a very different interpretation of the Schubert 9th than the famous 1942 performance. This one is less exciting, but it is a profound exploration of the score and in better sound. The same can be said for the 8th. It is a pleasure to hear Furtwängler shape the details of these symphonies. The Rosamunde Overture is a exceptional performance.
